Midnight Petroleum was founded in 1986 by Marc and Leah Miltenberger, providing residential and commercial heating and fuel needs to the community of Fort Simpson in the Northwest Territories (NWT).
During the Miltenbergers’ tenure, the company grew, expanding its business to serving Hay River in 1996 and Yellowknife in 2000. Midnight Petroleum then acquired a tank farm terminal in Yellowknife in 2002 and, in 2006, Midnight took on the Yellowknife Airport.
In 2015, The Rowes Group — a family-owned group of companies that was founded in the North in 1975 — purchased Midnight Petroleum, which has continued to see successful growth.
In 2016, Midnight began working with World Fuels to better supply jet fuel to Yellowknife Airport, and in 2017 built a new, state-of-the-art bulk plant and cardlock in Yellowknife.
Today, Midnight Petroleum serves over 2,800 customers across the NWT and that number continues to grow.
